The challenging golf course of Crescent Pointe

Designed by Palmer Course designs, so naturally it contains Arnold Palmer's signature beach bunkers. The ancient oaks and classical shot making opportunities make this course a golfer's dream-come-true. Palmer Design took full advantage of the breadth-taking landscape, added beautiful elevations and steep terrain which are rarely found in the area. The grand oaks, magnolias and pines inspire even the non-golfers.

The Blue tees are almost 6500 yards with an inspiring slope. The Palmer tees are close to 6800 yards. The real prize is the opening hole of the golf course. A 360 yards stretch with bunkers to the left side of the fairway and the green guarded by water.

The course has a steep terrain which is seldom found in the low country. The layout of the course presents the actual challenge with elevated tees and greens. The distinct characteristic of each hole depicts that a certain amount of imagination has been put into laying out the course. You must concentrate on every hole. The bunker and water can really become a nuisance at times. The greens are another story with their uneven curves and strategic placements. They are not actually very difficult but they do not let you get a flat stretch of grass to the hole either. The bunkers are just about the water's edge in such a way as to jeopardize your whole stance.

The most important thing is accuracy. For example: the number 1 hole can easily send your tee shot to a narrow fairway. If you go towards the palm trees or the bunker, you just might land in the water. The sand areas also pose a perpetual threat to your game. Despite these obstacles, and perhaps because of them, Crescent Pointe continues to catch your imagination. The tremendous amount of concentration required to play here polishes your game to the maximum.

The fees range from 90 to 125 dollars which makes it a fair deal. On the northern side of the island you can find the Beach walk hotel and Condominiums where you can have a great stay. The hotel provides free breakfast. There is a swimming pool, gazebo and a sundeck. There are shops, restaurants and even a cycle repair shop, in the area. People are friendly and cordial.
